Today was a short 7 or 8 mile paddle through a large open area. The wind quickly picked up and slowed us down quite a bit. The waves weren’t big, but they were big enough to engulf the the kayak a couple of times. Naturally, I forgot to put on my spray skirt so I got a little wet. Luckily the temperature was almost 80 degrees! We paddled to a gorgeous spoil island near Titusville. Tomorrow we should hit Manatee Hammock Campground. It’s going to cool down a little tomorrow but I think it will be alright for paddling. Especially that north wind that’s coming down! 😎
